Week 85: February 23, 2021

 Hey everyone!

Well transfers came, hence why pday is today! And I will be staying in Newcastle, Elder Newell will be leaving which is sad. I'll have another elder coming in, Elder Maruhi! I've never served around him but heard he's really nice, hes from Tahiti! It should be a fun transfer

Honestly not much happened this week haha, it's been a pretty mild week compared to weeks past. We've honestly just been doing normal missionary work all day everyday

Since I really dont have anything to write, I guess i can just share my personal witness of using Facebook/technology in doing missionary work, that it works! Honestly when england went into its first lockdown almost a year ago, I was super sad and discouraged that missionary work was stopping, or at least that's what I believed. But our mission president at the time kept encouraging and telling us that it would only be for 6 weeks. He said that in 6 weeks we would be back out on the streets and knocking on doors. About a year later, that obviously hasn't happened yet. But we've seen just as much success without being on the streets.

Our mission president shared the other week that in January 2020, before lockdown, the mission had 15 baptisms. And this year, 2021, in lockdown, the mission had 15 baptisms. The only difference is that we were in lockdown this year, and also that because the church hasn't been able to get many missionaries to england recently, we had almost double the amount of missionaries last year.

The work is hastening! So grateful that I can be part of the gathering of Israel in this day and age

-Elder Ensign
